SAY YES to the ESS-AY with Dr. Coppi
I’m Dr. Kellie Coppi and I run Say Yes to the Ess-ay, an essay consulting and coaching service for you and your student! I focus on the nuanced approach to college admissions essays/written application requirements submissions. Do you need assistance with a common application essay? A supplemental? What about a scholarship essay or a letter of continued interest? Writing an appeal? I’m here for you! I can even review your Activities Section for the common app. My assistance in this often-stressful field is endless! Did I forget to name a service you need? Feel free to ask!
I take a holistic approach to the creation and review process (the same way colleges do) with a character-driven focus that ensures your teen focuses on what THEY want to say to a college instead of what you think a college wants to HEAR. By aligning personal and institutional values, your student creates the most compelling, authentic narrative possible.
Working remotely on Google Docs I go back and forth with your student to ensure that, in the end, a perfected copy is ready for submission and everyone is satisfied. The Google Doc provides enough structure, support and guidance while affording your student the flexibility to write on their schedule. I’ve found that virtual sessions via Zoom where consultants charge hourly rates can be ineffective as brainstorming cannot be done in a time crunch. Instead, I offer flat fees for the different types of essays/written requirements you’ll find during the college application process.
I offer a 48 hour turnaround for all edits and unlimited feedback.

**Disclaimer**
If students wish to have others read and comment on essays (parents, friends, teachers) that should wait until our work is complete. Once essays are shared with others, I will not make further suggestions for improvement, nor comment on or provide additional editing once someone else has done so. In particular, parents and families should respect students’ agency in this process.
